Wings Strong, But Who's Watching?

The Red Wings have looked strong, for the first time since 2002 in this years playoffs. They dominated the Sharks, and looked strong again last night against a tough Anaheim team. This series shouldn't be a pretty one, goals will be tough to come by. But that seems to be the style that fits the Wings best this year. It isn't nice to watch all the time, but you can't argue with the results.

The biggest problem I had with last nights game was what channel was it on? It's a shame that viewers have to tune in to "Vs." in order to watch a game as big as the Western Conference Finals. Their play-by-play is horrible, and way they present the game in terms of viewing is even worse. It's been long enough since the strike that killed the sport, it's time for the Commissioner to get on the ball and find a major network to be the home of the NHL. It didn't take this long for baseball to get back in the public eye after their strike in the mid-90's, and people said that strike nearly killed the sport.

We're seeing great hockey right now, it's a shame that not everyone is actually getting to view it. Until the NHL gets a major deal with ESPN or another major network it will remain a dead sport that no one really cares about.
